The Central Bank of Nigeria has formally shifted the full commencement of its cashless policy nationwide from June 1, 2012 to January 1, 2013.
However, it's said the pilot phase of the programme in Lagos State would begin on April 1, 2012.
It also confirmed that it had raised the cash deposit limit for individuals from N150,000 to N500,000 while that for corporate organisations was raised from N1 million to N3 million.
These were contained in a statement by the CBN Head, Corporate Communications, M.M. Abdullahi.
The statement said the cumulative withdrawals and lodgements for corporate bodies had been increased from N1 million to N3 million.
Nigeria is not et ready for this form of development,considering the conventional ways we transact business in Nigeria. Its not just Practical.
