Governors, clerics preach peace and love during this Easter period.

Governors and prominent christian leaders yesterday urged Nigerians to promote peace and embrace humility as Christians celebrate Easter.
Easter, which comes after Lent, a period of 40 days of fast by christians, marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, a milestone, which forms the most important landmark in the christian faith.Friday (today) is Good Friday and Sunday is Easter.
In the Christendom, the three days are symbolic as they form the cornerstone of Christian faith, hope and promises of eternal life.
To many Christians, Easter is an event that celebrates God’s authority over the power of man as He raised Jesus from the dead.
Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Patrick Yakowa (Kaduna), said the period provides a good opportunity for Nigerians to work towards resolving the  security challenges confronting the country.
Dean, Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion), Adebola Ademowo, said Jesus Christ’s death on the cross provided a way for all people to come to God.
Ademowo said, “This is a day to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. You can tag it, ‘ giving up to go up’.”

In his Easter message yesterday, Okonkwo assured Nigerians that God would intervene in the affairs of the nation and urged all to remain hopeful.
He said, “As we join the multiplied millions all over the world to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I wish to call on every Nigerian to remain hopeful and grateful to God because the message of Easter is all about hope to humanity.”
