Asiwaju Bolatito Akanbi Adekunle Tinubu,the former governor of Lagos State and the ubiquitous national leader of Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) clocked 60 on Thursday,March 29,2012.
The programme of events that marks the milestone age of the astute politician started On Friday,March 23,2012,with a special Jumat prayer at the Central Mosque,Alausa Secretariat,Ikeja,Lagos.Tinubu and Governor Babatunde Fashola(SAN) were present at the special prayer.On the same day,a drama presentation organized by a committee of friends of the birthday boy was staged at the Agip Hall,Muson Centre,Onikan,Lagos.
Thereafter,guests gathered at Teslim Balogun Stadium for more prayers and tributes.
I learnt that the aso-ebi for the 25,000 estimated guests present at the event was sponsored by politicians and political holders from Lagos East Senatorial districts(that is Epe,Ibeju-Lekki,Ikorodu Kosofe and Somolu LGAs).
Mr. John Dramani Mahama ,the vice president of Ghana was the special guest of honour at the stadium event.
In the evening of that Thursday,a play entitled Nigeria the Beautiful,written by Odia Ofeimunm and directed by Felix Okolo was staged at Shell Hall,Muson Centre,Onikan,Lagos.
